It’s 2075, and Julius Stileman, a scientific genius, manages to develop a
process capable
of rejuvenating the human body. This scientist is also a brilliant
businessman who, after having filed a patent on his treatment, becomes
very powerful. His conditions are strict, yet simple: the minimum price
is one
million pounds!
The treatment stops working after ten years, therefore the patient has
ten years to rebuild a fortune and buy a new cure… Dallas Barr is
Stileman’s best friend. Now at 132 years old, he is the second oldest
man in the world, and he is also believed to be an expert in
delicate and dangerous missions. In exchange for the treatment which
will extend his life for another ten years, Stileman is willing to do
anything. A re-edition of this classic science fiction comic by Marvano
and Haldeman, exploring the darkest depths of humanity…
“Dallas Barr” is a very rare jewel, the result of a close collaboration between a very original Belgian illustrator and a famous American novelist renowned for great science fiction. That’s how “Dallas Barr” is constructed — an original and strong science fiction series that’s not an adaptation of US comic book, but an original creation.
Situated halfway between myth and scientific reality, the “Dallas Barr” series initially consisted of five albums. Starting in February 2005 and due to the complicity of Marvano and Haldeman, new unpublished chapters have appeared and been added to the previous collection, thus developing a “Polyptyque” in seven volumes to be published by Le Lombard. Le Lombard has republished the first five volumes of “Dallas Barr” in a new presentation adapted to the standards of its “Polyptyque” collection.
