Last heir of a noble family from Brittany, Julien of Saint-Rodrigue goes
with his servant Telesphore to search for a sword that belonged to his
ancestor Alexandre. One of the diamonds set in its pommel could help
Julien to save his castle from ruin. Alexandre of Saint-Rodrigue, a
great traveller, borrowed his name from an Indian Ocean island, from
which he brought back a magical tree, “The Tree of Two Springs”. It was
just off this island that he disappeared in 1680, during a second
expedition. When Julien arrives there, he is savagely captured by a group of
natives dressed in French uniforms from the 17th century. But as
soon as he pronounces the name of his ancestor, they release him.
