A total masterpiece, the Blacksad series follow the adventures of a charismatic private detective. Reminiscent of the great masters of the thriller genre, this modern classic is defined by its sublime drawings and a mastery of scenario that has made this graphic novel one of the biggest successes of its genre. Set in 1950s New Orleans, with Mardi Gras is in full swing, a jazz producer named Faust agrees to meet Blacksad. Faust sets Blacksad up with a new mystery: one of his musicians, the pianist Sebastian, has disappeared. He hasn’t given any sign of life for months, and in so doing is endangering his private label. Faust fears Sebastian has, one time too many, fallen to drugs. His request is urgent, all the more because he knows he is dying of cancer. Blacksad accepts the mission and discovers little by little that Faust hasn’t told him everything. He realizes that he is himself being manipulated, but decides to find Sebastian anyway to understand the reasons behind his mysterious disappearance. He doesn’t know yet that this is set to be his most trying investigation, for more reasons than he thinks…
