Cythera is a sorcerer’s apprentice living in a small cottage with her grandmother, who teaches her the secrets of magic which have been passed down in their family from generation to generation. But Cythera turns out to be even more gifted than they expected. Transforming objects, changing the weather, switching characters, meeting the queen of witches, catching the moon…she has so many powers that things tend to go a little bit haywire. Mischievous and cheeky, she always manages to keep her cool in the most ridiculous of situations. This fabulous, off-the-wall tale, published for the first time in 1980, is one of the very few works Fred has done for a young audience.
