Doña Emilia del Scuebo and her court sail the seas peacefully aboard Captain de la Loya’s ship. But a foul wind blows them into the path of the infamous pirate ship Barracuda. Black Dog, the pirate captain, and his men take the wealthy passengers captive. The aging captain — still as cruel as he is wily — immediately realizes that he can turn a profit from his distinguished hostages. On the island of Puerto Blanco, a well-known hideout for the worst vermin of the seas, Black Dog sells the lives of three of his prisoners for cash: Doña Scuebo, her beautiful daughter Maria, and their young valet. Meanwhile, Black Dog has plans of his own: to sail in search of the ancestral treasure of the Scuebos. These characters’ destinies will intertwine around a single quest: the search for the Diamond of Kashar, the crown jewel of the Scuebo family treasure.
