Nothing is more divisive than reality shows: while some find them laughable, others find them addictive (though they may not want to admit it).
Yasmina is a 35-year-old psychologist who cannot get enough of them—much to the dismay of her intellectual family! Having discovered reality shows only recently—when she could no longer avoid them—she is now totally addicted to them, an addiction that causes her as much guilt as delight! After the latest in a succession of humiliating evenings with her parents, Yasmina decides to prove to them that reality shows are a subject worthy of analysis and gets a job as a journalist on the set of a show. As the reality show becomes her own reality, she attempts to answer the questions she has so often asked herself:
Why are reality shows so addictive and why do we feel so ashamed about it? Do they really let us in on people’s intimate secrets? What do the participants get out of them? And what does their desire to expose themselves to the world say about them?
