After her mission in the Amazon, Kathy Austin decides to head back to Great
Britain where she goes to Scotland to take a few days off. It is here that a late
great-aunt left her the house in which she spent her vacations growing up. But
when she arrives in the village of Killwood, she is stunned to discover that the
house, which faces a loch, has burned down. With the help of the local police,
Kathy gradually comes to understand that strange things have been happening
in the area. The locals also warn her against going out alone at night on
the moors. Meanwhile, deep within a castle by the sea, a group of men and
women are working in the greatest of secrecy, and are trying to extract a mysterious
artifact embedded in the stone…. Who are these people and, above all,
where does this star-shaped artifact come from?
