It is 1947. The United States has just revealed to the world that a
flying saucer has crash-landed near Roswell, New Mexico. A few hours
later, Stalin declares that the USSR, too, is in possession of a
spaceship. The two superpowers will throw themselves into studying the
vehicles, devoting all their considerable human and financial resources
to the project.
Twenty years later, in a world of flying cars and atomic-powered trains
— a world that has undergone a spectacularly fast technological
evolution — Nico, a young C.I.A. agent, sets off on a mission that will
take her around the world. A retro-futuristic utopia is born.
