The United States, at the beginning of the twentieth century. Two men: sons, heirs, brothers. But everything marks them as opposites. The first, private and reserved, takes his place as head of the family’s business empire and begins a merciless quest for new sources of petroleum. The other, hotheaded and sensual, seeks to explore the depths of human existence. Nonetheless, they are closer than they think: both are predators, both fierce animals. The only difference is that one keeps himself under tight self-control, while the other is utterly savage.
Drawing from sources that span the twentieth century, owing as much to ‘Dallas’ as to Blueberry, Benson Gate recounts the destiny of two brothers who will go to any length to satisfy their thirst for power.
Loosely inspired by a novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, The Master of Ballantrae, Benson Gate is a superb high-adventure series, with a complex and compelling plot. It takes us into the heart of a United States where dollars have replaced Colt six-shooters, but where animal savagery stills lurks beneath the veneer of civilization.
