The story of a friendship formed in a hospital, a bond between two men who might otherwise never have met: Jean, a young rocker whose dreams of success have been dashed by illness, and the strange and secretive Franck, a 60-something Sinatra fan (like his father before him), who never takes his hat off, believing it once belonged to the late great singer.
After an initial shouting match, Franck and Jean become friends and allies in their joint battle against illness, and their friendship enables them to reveal their aborted dreams and fears, as well as their hopes, with both candor and humor as their worlds collapse.
A tale through which a precious memory of Norway is relived in honor of a beloved friend. The story also explores the suffering caused by incurable illness and the resilience that comes with every loss, in an attempt to preserve the feeling of being “alive”!
