History, legend, and imagination are the creative Golden Triangle for writer Jean-Claude Servais. In the latest of his spiritual landscapes, he combines three threads with a common theme: the story of Richarde, a deposed queen who finds the body of a young bear and builds a convent in its memory; legends from a time when bears roamed the valleys of the Vosges mountains; and of course a tragic tale of lost love between a peasant and a girl with a dancing bear.
