What happens when a native of Juvisy, a pleasant spot in the Parisian
suburbs, decides to move out to the countryside — surrounded by cows,
calves and pigs? At the very least, it’s culture shock! He’ll have to
learn to speak the native patois, discover the effects of the local
liquor and, above all, learn to change his city ways of thinking. From
this real-life experience, Manu Larcenet and Ferri have produced one of
the most joyous and vibrant albums of the year — if not the decade.
One day, Manu and Mariette decided they’d had enough of their crumbling
suburb. So they headed off to live in Ravenelles: 89 inhabitants, one
butcher and one baker, a produce shop, a drugstore and a tobacconist.
