Walker and dreamer, poet and illustrator, man alone and man in love,
balancing between word and image: in his relations with other people,
men and women, Edmond Baudoin continues his search for himself. Coming
after “Les Yeux dans le mur” and “Le Chant des baleines”, “Les
Essuie-glaces” can be read as another part of the story, like the third
part of a triptych. It is the third part of a superb display of artistic
skill, in which the dark shades readily give way to clear, luminous
colours, light as the white geese in the skies above the Gaspé
peninsula.
