For the last two centuries, since the appearance of market economy, they’ve got just one thing on their mind: to accumulate enough profit to be in a position to live by their own rules, beyond their legend and their posterity. For two hundred years, the fourty ‘big bosses’ who’ve had an important influence on the economy and our own lives have one thing in common: they’ve all been able to free themselves of the old system and ride the wave of the new. Thier ideas, which aren’t always their own; their achievements, for which they’ve given their soul; their obsessions, which have sometimes lead them to a breakdown; these character traits are what have made them ‘extraordinary capitalists’. Here is a testament to their lives, their ideas, and their legends, all against a backdrop of the rise of capitalism.
