Lady Vivien, a young Englishwoman, has had no news from her husband in
three long years. That was when Lord Hasting set off to explore the New
World, where he apparently disappeared. But one day, she receives a
message: her husband wants her to join him. Deep in Inca territory, he
has discovered the lost city of Guyanacapac. He hopes to carry off its
hidden treasure — but he needs her help.
Although she is pregnant with another man’s child, Lady Vivien decides
to join her husband, along with a group of unscrupulous adventurers.
Among them is a certain Long John Silver, a thoroughly dangerous pirate.
The voyage will take them to distant lands, up the length of the Amazon
River and deep into the jungle…
Inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson, this story brings to light the life
of Long John Silver, the pirate who appeared in Treasure Island. Xavier
Dorison has imagined this character’s unusual adventures, from his
departure from England into the remotest lands of South America, among
the Inca Indians. A tale of adventure, suitable for all audiences.
