As an adult, Pinocchio has grown up into a veritable giant. Nonetheless, he is constantly forced to flee the curse of his aunt, the Blue Fairy. Tired of wandering, he teams up with a drug-addled wizard to investigate a series of strange phenomena. The two put their skills (such as they are) to work for a group of blind billionaires, who are determined to fight any and all pararnormal events. But their first investigation brings them face to face with a Gepetto gone mad — who now conducts catastrophic experiments under the name of Frankenstein.
After “Silex Files,” Philippe Foerster takes on a new series. This one is closer in tone to “Starbuck,” which Foerster created at Dupuis 15 years ago: eccentric humor with overtones of horror, featuring characters who are almost like heroes. The author lets his imagination run wild, giving readers a no-holds-barred reinterpretation of the great myths of Gothic literature.
Pinocchio versus Frankenstein: a new lease on life for two of the world’s best-loved monsters.
