The romantic adventure of a country gentleman from Normandy who sets out to conquer America but instead learns to live with the last remaining Native Americans, the Kogui and Tairona, ultimatemy returning to Europe a little wiser about a lost civilization. As a young man, Arthur Rouët left France to go and live with his cousin in North America. There, he was involved in the construction of the first railroads to reach the west coast and travelled throughout the Americas. When the Franco-Prussian War broke out in 1870, Rouët returned to France to play his part in the conflict. On his return, he brought back one of the famous Tairona pendants with him.
