The setting: the contemporary USA, in a ghetto reserved for the wealthy.
In a sort of artificial village of splendid houses, protected by security guards, a group of well-born young people are getting bored. Especially Bart, the leader of the group, who has ordered some exciting new toys through the Internet: a Nazi colonel’s uniform, in excellent condition, and the very latest make of assault rifle. With a few of his friends, Bart plans to celebrate his new acquisitions, and to disturb the lethargic peace of this gilded cage. Christin, writer of Valerian and The Hunting Party, draws a terrifying — but terrifyingly realistic — picture of this ultimate perversion of the capitalist way of life. The story is brought to life by Mounier, the artist of Exit. A work of political fiction that will send chills down the reader’s spine.
