The “Version Originale” collection presents Franquin’s storyboards, reproduced and published in the format in which they were designed. Poring over the pages of the albums in this series, one gets a feel for the virtuosity of the artists’ pen-strokes: from the way remorse is carved into the drawing with lines like a razor blade to the way characters’ features are erased with strokes of gouache, these storyboards are a surefire way of immersing oneself in the creator’s work and process.
