At the same moment, in three different parts of the world, three groups of young people are preparing to leave home. For Fanny, Nico and Lila, it’s an exciting departure to Africa, where a humanitarian mission awaits them. Diop and Norbert are leaving their African village for a better life, in Europe or elsewhere. And Karim and Shafiq are getting ready to embark on a plane that will take them from Saudi Arabia to the Sahara, where they are to take part in a hunt. They have nothing in common, but they all will take the Trans-Sahara Highway, that forsaken road winding through the desert, which lends itself to the most unlikely encounters. This sensitive, realistic “road movie” is Pierre Christin’s first script for the collection “Aire Libre”.
