Brittany, 1825. Guillaume Montbrun is an impetuous, frivilous young man who gets his kicks fro fighting duels. With his eyes closed, he shoots off the
ear of the son of Ar Braz. But this time, Honorin, his tutor, smells
trouble. He sends Guillaume off to Paris just before he himself is
assassinated by a certain Rutherford. Now Guillaume is accused of murder
and is being pursued by Rutherford and a furious Ar Braz. However, he
has a sympathetic friend, Paul Sudrie, a dwarf, who takes him by ship to
Russia: “Either you trust me or you can return to your Brittany and be
lynched.”
