Banned from publication by the Germans in 1943, Le Journal de Spirou
continued to be produced and distributed clandestinely in the streets of
Brussels. The Journal, which was a single folded sheet of paper, told a
story of Spirou, Fantasio and Spip and was signed by the illustrator
Al, who drew in the style of Gus Bofa and Jijé. This publication, which
is a collection of extremely rare tracts found by one of his
descendants, is a moving testament to life under the Occupation.
