Summer, 1997. In her suburban house, a mother is baking cookies and listening
to the news on the radio. She would like her husband to take care of her a
little more, but he’s such a busy man, slumped on the couch, engrossed by an
F1 race on television. Upstairs, her teenage daughter is secretly smoking at
her bedroom window. With her backpack at the ready, she is about to slip out
of the window and go take on the world.
In the meantime, her brother has other concerns: everyone knows that to wake
a princess up, you have to give her a kiss. But what should a young boy who
is not a princess do, when he feels the burning desire to kiss his neighbor?
Through the innocence of childhood games, Quentin Zuttion questions our
impulses to love, homosexuality, and desire, in a breathtaking and dreamlike
tale.
