Having studied at Saint-Luc in Brussels under the supervision of Claude Renard and François Schuiten, Marianne Duvivier enrols in a drawing course at the Académie des Beaux-Arts of Brussels.
She makes her debut in the world of comic books in 1983 with several short stories in the Circus magazine. From 1984 to 1987 she creates three albums for the “Stone” series (Editions Glénat) with Jan Bucquoy. In 1990, Editions Delcourt publishes “Lagune, L’abbaye des dunes”, with a script by Jacques de Pierpont. In September 1993, Casterman publishes “Mauvaise graine”, about a world out of the ordinary in which children struggle to survive. Two more albums in this series follow in 1997 and 2001. The first album of “L’Écharde” appears in 2004, with a script by Frank Giroud, in the “Empreinte(s)” collection of Editions Dupuis.
