Céline Fraipont was born in Brussels in 1974.
Trained as a florist, she became interested in comic books when she met Pierre Bailly in Liège in 1996.
Ten years later, after several brushes with scriptwriting, she suddenly felt the urge, between two baby bottles, to work on a silent comic book aimed at toddlers.
All she needed was an artist: “I had one right there. He was funny and well brought up (although a bit grumpy sometimes…), so I decided to use that one!”
The “Petit Poilu” series appeared several months later and was warmly welcomed by the publisher Dupuis for their new Puceron collection.
