However, infatuated by the heroes of Tintin magazine since his childhood, he preferred to turn towards comic books. In 1991, Guilhem arrived in Brussels. He was initiated in his future profession as a comic book artist by “smurfing” at the Peyo Studio. At the same time, he began working for Spirou magazine. He illustrated the editorial pages of the weekly and created short comic books with scripts by Salma, Gilson, Mazan and Zidrou, among others. From 1992 to 1994, he worked on the series “La Tribu des Epithètes” written by Gilson.
Upon his return to France, Guilhem began a four-year collaboration with “Le Journal de Mickey” and “Minnie Mag” (Disney-Hachette Presse), where he provided graphics for the articles and games. He also provided the images for the series “Entre Nous”. Furthermore, he worked as an illustrator for advertising brochures and board games, including “Vocabulon Junior” for Larousse. From 1995 to 1997, he provided the artwork for the series “Le Lézard ne dort que d’un oeil” for “Télé 7 Jeux” based on scripts by Jean-Paul Rouland.
In 1998, Guilhem renewed ties with the publisher Dupuis. He illustrated six novels inspired by the comic book “Papyrus” by L. De Gieter, and created “Sélim le Marin” with the scriptwriter Mazan. He also met the scriptwriter Pierre Veys with whom he created the humorous galactic adventures of the “Space Mounties” in 2001 (Troisième Degré collection, Lombard).
In 2005, the publisher Dupuis suggested he provide the illustrations for the magnificent script “Zarla guerrière impitoyable” by Lean-Louis Janssens.
