In 1983, he participated in the review “Viper”, creating his first album for Glénat at the same time, “l’Enfer du Jour”, that he re-drew in 1995 in the form of a comic book/novel for the publisher Dargaud. He also regularly collaborated on the magazine “Circus Hors-série”, and did the artwork for the series “Yérushalaim” for Vécu.
Then followed four years of various jobs to pay the bills, only interrupted by the publication in 1989 of “La Pension des Deux Roses”, by the publisher Magic Strip. During this period of transition, Emmanuel Moynot focused on his initial passion, music. Singer-songwriter, guitar and harmonica player, he found in music a form of expression that complemented comic books.
In 1992, the first volume of “Temps des bombes” was published. He began collaborating with Dieter on the third volume of the series. He is currently working with him on the “Vieux Fou” series.
Still with Dieter, “Qu’elle crève la charogne!” in 1995 for Vent d’Ouest, then two volumes of “Nord-Sud”, “Moscou” and “Los Angeles”, all for Dargaud. In 1995, he re-drew and increased “L’enfer du jour” to make a comic book/novel in black and white for Dargaud. “A quoi tu penses?” was published in 2000 by Casterman. He followed with “Bonne fête Maman!” and “Pendant que tu dors, mon amour” both created with Dieter.
In 2006, “Pourquoi les baleines bleues viennent-elles s’échouer sur nos rivages” was published as part of the Aire Libre collection for the publisher Dupuis. This is a great thriller by Emmanuel Moynot at the peak of his art!
