Roland Pignault began to draw through publicity works in 1986 and realised some grand decorative fresques in collaboration with Fred Campoy. They started to publish together their first comics in magazines. Pignault developed a strongly style based on the adaptation of photographic documents into drawings. When J.P. Pécau wrote the scenario of a series (“Arcanes”) staging a private detective who manipulates the probability laws, Roland Pignault illustrated at the publisher Delcourt the first volume with his acolyte Campoy (“Le Baron fantôme”, en 1998) and alone drew the second one (“La dame de Prague”, en 2001). Afterwards he was chosen for the realisation of the third volume of the series “Pandora Box” based on a scenario of Alcante for the Empreinte(s) collection of Editions Dupuis (“La luxure”, en 2005).
