March Madness
Greetings, partners, from our brand-new offices in Paris!
Just as we’re settling in, we’re also packing our bags for the 55th edition of the Bologna Children’s Book Fair (March 26-29). We’ll be in Hall 21, at stand C16, and we cordially invite you to come by and take a look through our publishers’ latest children’s and young readers titles. You’ll find, for example, the adorable eleventh volume of the adventures of Ana Ana, the clever kid sister of much-loved Pico Bogue. And you’ll also find the first volume of “Télémaque,” an ingenious revisiting of Homer’s epic starring Telemachus on his journey in search of his father Ulysses, king of Ithaca.
We also want to give a special shout-out to Little Urban, the children’s book imprint founded in 2015, that MFR is proud to represent. Their growing list of titles contains gems not to be missed! So please take advantage of Bologna this year to learn more, and don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for requests. You can peruse the foreign rights catalogue here.
A presto!

Crime & Mystery, Suspense & Thrillers
A gritty 1950s gangster series with the ultimate bad boy of comics in the leading role. Tyler Cross lives his life on a knife edge, but he never shows the slightest sign of losing his cool. Perhaps that’s why he’s one of the most high-in-demand drug traffickers in the USA. Guns, drugs, and the occasional explosive combine with cutting dialogue and dramatic illustration to make this an unforgettable plunge into good old-fashioned noir.

London, September 1940. Eddie Gorm is the boss of the docks and the only thing he cares about is keeping his small business going. In order to do so, he’ll do pretty much anything: diversion of military rations, alcohol trafficking, and score-settling in the East End. The war? The Nazis? That’s someone else’s problem. But when death comes knocking on his door, he has no choice. As the only man able to save the world from atomic horror, Eddie finds himself flung, against his will, into the midst of an age-old conflict between the Knights Templar and the Assassin Brotherhood… The second volume takes place in Madrid in 2017, when Maxime Gorm delves into his grandfather’s work and legacy as a Nazi spy.

Homer’s “Odyssey” revisited (and much improved)! Telemachus, a clumsy and slightly conceited boy, sets out to look for his father Ulysses, king of Ithaca. Telemachus won’t be alone on his quest. He’s soon joined by Polycaste, princess of Pylos and daughter of the hero Nestor; Nobody, a cyclops brimming with “theoretical” knowledge; and Zephyr, the young and intrepid west wind. Together, they’ll traverse a section of “The Odyssey” and discover Ulysses’ surprising fate, which turns out to be rather different to the one Homer wrote for him!
