A Viking warrior and a young slave battle a ferocious sea creature that haunts the fjords of ancient Scandinavia.
It
is the year 800, and Drakkars (longships) and fishing boats have been
vanishing all over Scandinavia, leaving no trace. A young slave girl,
Sieglind, miraculously escapes the wreck of her ship. She is taken in by
a strange man: Asgard, known as “Iron-foot”. Asgard is a
“Krökentötter,” an ancient Viking warrior turned bounty hunter, who
pursues the most extraordinary – and dangerous – game.
Asgard has led
a tough, battle-ridden life, eventually turning to the profession of
“monster hunting.” The news of such a creature in the territories of
Noordland seems to offer him an opportunity to win enormous rewards,
and, perhaps, to re-establish his place at the court of Jarl, the King
of the Vikings. Asgard and Sieglind embark on a drakkar with one simple
objective: find and kill the creature that’s haunting the fjords.
Despite
all his experience and preparations, Asgard will discover that the
menace roaming the frozen waters is a much more formidable enemy than
the huge bears or giant reptiles of the distant Southlands.
Although
they set out as hunters, Sieglind and Asgard will end up as prey. The
conflict between the Kräkentötter and the animal culminates in an epic
clash between a man thirsty for vengeance against the Fates… and the son
of the Gods.
