After living out their dream of ‘going back to the earth,’ a family returns to the city after five years away. They’ve learned that rural life isn’t all fun, all the time — so it’s with real enthusiasm that they rediscover the joys of urban life: asphalt, nighttime lighting, city clothes, crowds, working in an office with other people, anonymous neighbors, going out to a restaurant with friends. And farewell to the endless chores, to the ticks, to mowing the lawn, to mud, to obese mothers in sweatpants, to having everyone know your business! But, of course, not everything can go completely smoothly. They will also have to rediscover the ever-present boss (or find a new one), cope with the price of housing, deal with the loneliness of the crowd and re-adjust to a whole new way of life, from office work to bringing up their little girl. All in all, it won’t be as simple as they had thought!
