Among other things, “Bandoneon” recounts the fate of Horacio, a child prodigy on the piano who finds tango musicians fascinating, and who grows up to become a talented young man ready to do anything to become the equal of those notable bon vivants whose affluence he covets. He will stop at nothing to reach his goal, not even compromising his principles, even if that means breaking promises and regretting it all once the illusion has vanished and life has passed him by… But “Bandoneon”, by Jorge Gonzalez, is also the story of his return to Argentina, if only to visit friends and family, thus offering the chance to ponder what it means to create, be an Argentinean, love tango, leave, and return.
