Three young people of today sharing an apartment as the world collapses around them: an apocalyptic version of “Friends”? No, it’s just Jul’s new album: a fantasy that showcases all the contradictions of our time as we face the urgency of threats to our planet. No moral lesson, no survivalist propaganda, the daily life of these teenagers depicts the threat of climate change, the madness of growth, unlimited pollution or inequality, with a mischievous irony.
The book, which is the result of a dialogue with the French Development Agency in order to implement the UN’s commitments (the “17 Sustainable Development Goals”), is a manual of reflection on how to act when faced with disaster and provides answers to many questions: Should we prefer the complete works of Bergman to the Norwegian compilation of Greta Thunberg’s speeches? Can a hummingbird be used to refuel a 4×4? Has the civilization of Easter Island collapsed due to a shortage of chocolate eggs?
