The small island of cape Tourneboussole is rocked by the disappearance of one of its
residents: the old pirate Auguste Shermann. Frequentio, a lawyer who only recently
moved to Tourneboussole, summons Shermann’s four heirs: Cecil Shermann, aged 29,
a broke coach driver and father living in England; Magdalena, aged 44, a fat detestable
fallen noblewoman who’s been living in Holland for years; and Carl Shermann, aged
53, a captain of industry and military man working in Africa. The fourth heir, Wilmina,
lives on Tourneboussole and was brought up by her hot-headed and often cruel father.
The news of other heirs is disconcerting for Wilmina who thought she was the only
family Shermann had!
However, her father’s will states that the four heirs must go looking for their
inheritance as it’s hidden somewhere on Tourneboussole. Forced to work together,
the four cousins go off in search of Shermann’s treasure, but the more they discover
about the pirate’s past, the more treacherous their treasure hunt becomes…
