It was at the end of the 20th century when Manu Larcenet, the creator of the crazy adventures of ‘Bill Baroud’ in Fluide Glacial, met Jean-Michel Thiriet, who was toiling away in the pages of Fluide as well as Spirou, when he wasn’t writing for Canal +.Combining their comic influences (Goossens, Gary Larson, and Pifou for the former; Woody Allen, Monty Python and Desproges for the latter), they created about 300 drawings which were the subject of 3 albums in the, now defunct, collection, ‘Humour Libre’.Fifteen years later, and the time has come to republish these cartoons, which are as hilarious as ever, in a beautiful complete collection.
