-‘Daddy? If the Almighty would tell you to climb a mountain and sacrifice me, as he did to Abraham… would you obey him?
-‘Of course.’
Thus answered Yaacov his son Gamaliel. We are in Jerusalem, in the era of Christ. Gamaliel, a small boy of ten and his father have just sacrificed a goat for the Pessach feast in the Temple. He collides with the guardians of the Temple during a brawl that evolves into a riot, finally suppressed by the Roman legion. From that moment on, Yaacov, who is considered to be the instigator of the riot, is an outlaw and must flee the city after he is separated from his son. Two deserting soldiers, Cotus and Camulos, who take him along on their flight, collect Gamaliel. Revolutions, repression: Gamaliel is entangled beyond his will in the big adventure… under the olive trees of Judea.
