At just past 40, Christine seems like a serene young woman. She has organized a full life for herself: she is a single mother to her adopted daughter, she works as a book clerk in the FNAC department store, she volunteers with the Telephone Samaritans, and she’s trying to write a novel. And then there’s Eric, her ex, on whom she can rely less and less.
Nonetheless, her life seems about to get more complicated. First there’s Claude, the love of her youth, who has suddenly reappeared, more seductive than ever. Then there are the mysterious telephone calls from a young woman who only phones during Christine’s shift. The more the unknown caller reveals of her story, the more troubled Christine becomes, as if a dark, forgotten past were gradually resurfacing…
Moving characters, carried by brilliantly realistic dialogue and magnificent artwork. The first collaboration between two great artists who have been brought together at last.
