Somewhere between Thomas Eisner’s “For Love of Insects” and the BBC’s TV
show “Gardeners’ World”, Simon Hureau recounts in minute detail how he
slowly brought his garden back to life from the wasteland that the former owner
had left behind. Without any particular knowledge on the subject, the author
managed to transform a no-man’s land into an oasis of biodiversity thanks to a
lot of research, love, and hard work. He thus proves that nature can be resilient,
as long as you are willing to help it out. A fascinating book by a self-taught
expert.
