In Arras, in the thirteenth century, Mechtilde is burned alive. Her crime was to have written the ‘Veritatis Visio’, a book so dark and portentous that every copy was destroyed along with the author… in theory. But four copies survived through the centuries, going on to destroy the life of a famous history writer, Patrick Prada. His wife dies shortly after finding a copy of this infamous vomume. To figure out what happened, Patrick will have to look into the past of the ‘Veritatis Visio’, and discover a historico-political intrigue that goes deeper than any of his wildest novels! Now that religious historical thrillers are really taking off, it’s the perfect time to rediscover the seering vision of Rudi Miel and Cristina Cuadra. A far cry from the usual, exaggerated style of this genre, theirs is a complex story about the emotional journey of a man in the grips of an impossible grief. Their plot is beautifully depicted in the realistic style of Paul Teng.
