Little Mathilde has a lot to ask of her parents, especially her dad. Her mind is plagued with the most pressing of questions: Why can’t you play football with your hands? How can she launch a search campaign when her blankie disappears? Why not eat the pretty blue and yellow mushrooms in the forest? Why does she have to kiss the old Father Christmas in the shopping mall who is ugly and smelly? A series of gags in half page format, “My Daughter and I” depicts the relationship between a geeky dad and his daughter. A vision of childhood seen through the eyes of a father who relives his youth through his daughter, this is an enchanting mix of innocence and nostalgia.
