Spain, 1937. The civil war is raging between Fascists and Republicans. Five new recruits, different in every way — in age, nationality, and sex — have come together under the Republican banner, and are sent as reinforcements to Quimera. But in the midst of their journey, their vehicle is struck by a shell. The commander and the driver are killed on the spot. Left alone, the group quickly scatters. Inexorably, war and its cruel realities will catch up with each member of the expedition.
