Barry Donovan is a New York police officer left traumatised by the events of 9/11, after his wife died in the collapse of one of the towers… Haunted by her death, he continues to dwell on the tragedy that changed his life forever. However, he finds some comfort on the Internet through his nightly conversations with a man named Werner Von Lowinksy, a cultured and intelligent aristocrat. Little by little, without ever having met, the two men develop a strange bond, as Werner relates very strongly to the drama in Barry’s life. But Werner has his own dramatic and violent family history, which began many years ago… before the day he became… a vampire!
