A classic “whodunit”, BLUES 46 puts together two totally contradictory characters. The series follows them through two albums of 48 pages along the roads of Southwestern France.
For the first time, Éric Stalner uses direct colour, a technique that successfully enriches the light and atmosphere of his drawings. In the first album, The Song of September, Guéric drives around listening to jazz in his 1950s Citroen that’s overloaded with old, vintage books. He makes a small living selling them, which could pay off big time if he ever unearths a rare edition sought after by a collector.
He lives a bohemian existence, which is fine with him – no boss or reports to make. Then one day in the Lot region, he just manages to avoid running over a young hitchhiker. It’s a rainy autumn day and Guéric agrees to give the boy a lift back to his aunt’s house, where a cast of bizarre characters await…
