Following his exploration of the landscape of Gaume and the Belgian Ardennes, Jean-Claude Servais decided to continue his voyage of discovery by travelling down the St. James’ Way through Belgium, France and Spain, as well as Germany and Scandinavia. The St. James’ Way is the overarching theme of Servais’ next few albums, although it’s not really a series, but a number of volumes with a thematic link. Servais’ characters encounter each other along the road, entering the stories of their predecessors in a subtle blend of past and present.
